Introducing Hunter Douglas’ first solar-based product – an add-on Solar Charger accessory designed to extend the operational life of a rechargeable battery-equipped PowerView® or SoftTouch® shade. The Solar Charger can be used to charge shades equipped with either a Rechargeable Battery Wand (RBW) or an Internal Rechargeable Battery (IRB), including current and legacy generations.
This product launches on August 20, 2024. Due to its uniquely efficient design, the Solar Charger offers enhanced low-light harvesting capabilities to allow for more versatile and effective charging applications. The charger works extremely well, even in low-light, north-facing windows, meaning the majority of rechargeable PowerView or SoftTouch shades connected to a Solar Charger will not require manual recharging. For homes with multiple rechargeable battery-equipped shades or for shades that are hard to reach, the Solar Charger offers improved convenience by eliminating potentially difficult or time-consuming recharging scenarios. Additionally, the Solar Charger is styled to blend into any home environment with optional black or white interior-facing colors, direct-to-glass or window jamb mounting capabilities, and an elegant yet minimal form factor.
